EMSELLA treatment
EMSELLA treatment device is a FDA approved, non-invasive and painless treatment for urinary incontinence, pelvic floor prolapse and vaginal laxity.
How does Emsella Works?
Many women experience a condition called stress urinary incontinence. Stress urinary incontinence occurs when the bladder leaks urine during physical activity or exertion. It may happen when you cough, laugh or sneeze. It is most commonly caused by natural childbirth and aging.
The EMSELLA chair uses a high-intensity electromagnetic field (similar to an MRI) to activate motor neurons in the pelvic floor. This causes the pelvic floor muscles to contract and relax, exercising them in a similar way to Kegel exercises.
While this type of treatment is selective and non-invasive, it offers deep penetration into the targeted tissues of the pelvic floor and stimulates the muscles. In as few as 3 weeks, studies showed patients' incidence of stress urinary incontinence had been improved.
EMSELLA chair will provoke 11,200 contractions, which is equivalent to performing 11,200 Kegel exercises! Hence, EMSELLA exercises your pelvic floor muscles much more frequently and intensely than what you can do on your own.
In most instances, the results can be felt immediately, some may require more time to achieve the optimum benefits. As this therapy is non-invasive and non-surgical, there is no recovery or downtime. You can return to your normal daily activities after the treatment.
