Profhilo Injection

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that boosts skin hydration and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, for plump, dewy skin with a youthful look.

Profhilo contains pure hyaluronic acid and can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage, and other areas of the body. It is the BDDE-free injectable Hyaluronic Acid (HA) for hydrating skin and treating skin laxity.

Unlike most HA injectables, Profhilo isn’t a dermal filler per se: it's a type of treatment called a skin booster. Rather than creating volume directly where it’s injected, the clear, jelly-like substance dissipates throughout the skin, for overall facial rejuvenation.

It won’t change your face shape or erase deep wrinkles, but Profhilo can improve skin laxity, fine lines, and overall skin quality, making skin look smoother, brighter, and more youthful.

Benefits of Profhilo

Profhilo aesthetic treatments can benefit all skin tones and skin types.

Profhilo stimulates the creation of four types of collagen and elastin to firm and smooth the skin.

The treatment is quick (15-30 minutes)and has no real downtime.

It can be performed all over the face and body, including the neck and chest, to boost skin quality.

Among HA skin-booster treatments, Profhilo has high concentrations of hyaluronic acid, according to its manufacturer, IBSA.

The high concentration and diffusion of hyaluronic acid within the dermis also trigger regenerative cells called fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. The manufacturer of Profhilo, IBSA, calls what this injectable does “bioremodelling.”

What to expect from the treatment?

A trained dermatologist will determine the exact location to inject Proghilo to achieve optimal results. Prior to the procedure, local anesthetic creams and nerve blocks may be used to minimize discomfort. The whole treatment usually takes about 15-30mins. You’re able to return to your daily activities immediately afterward

Though Profhilo can quickly hydrate skin, its full effects don't set in until about four to six weeks after the first treatment.

To maximize its cell-regeneration benefits, Profhilo is performed in two treatments, with a month between the first and second treatments.

Then a third treatment can follow, another three to six months out.

What are the side effects?

Bumps that resemble mosquito bites at the injection points are both common and normal, and they should subside within 24 hours, as the product dissipates through the skin.

As with other injectable treatments, mild bruising may occur after the procedure, too, but should go away within a few days.

What other cosmetic treatments may be combined with Profhilo?

Profhilo can be combined with treatments such as radiofrequency, botulinum toxin and lasers to achieve the optimal clinical outcome.
